Vålerenga American football, originally known as Oslo Trolls, was established in 1983 by a group of enthusiasts from Oppsal and Lambertseter. The club is the oldest in Norway in organized American football. Since its inception, Vålerenga Trolls has achieved considerable success, including several NM titles. They won the first official Norwegian championship in 1986 and dominated in the early years, with four straight victories. The club experienced a new heyday in the 1990s, with NM victories from 1993 to 1997.
Today, Vålerenga offers American football activities for various age groups, including U14, U17, senior teams and women's teams, which makes them unique in Norway. The club also has a partnership with Norsk Tipping, where players can become grassroots donors and support the club through their betting efforts. Each effort can give up to 7 percent of the profit to the selected grassroots recipient. Information about the club's activities and teams can be found on their official website, which is currently under construction.
