The dental health service's competence center East (TkØ) offers specialist treatment in several areas of dental health, including endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, periodontics and prosthetics. The center has developed an adapted dental health service for victims of torture and abuse as well as people with dental anxiety, with a focus on anxiety treatment through exposure therapy.
In addition to treatment services, TkØ works with skills development for dental health personnel through courses and guidance. The center is also involved in research and publications in dental health, which contributes to professional development in the field. TkØ is a municipal task partnership between the county municipalities of Akershus, Buskerud, Innlandet and Østfold, and is certified as an environmental beacon. The center actively participates in professional events such as the Orchid conference and Arendal Week.
