Norway Kemner- and Municipal Economists Association (NKK) is an interest organization for the municipal sector with a focus on finance and collection. The association was founded on 9 December 1919 and aims to support municipalities in their financial management. NKK offers a range of services, including courses and conferences dealing with municipal finances and municipal accounts. The organization also focuses on current changes in budget and accounting regulations, and arranges specific courses such as an introduction to municipal accounting and onward invoicing.
In addition to courses and conferences, NKK publishes circulars on relevant topics such as pension costs and value added tax. The association runs its own publishing house which publishes books and the journal Kommunal Økonomi, and has ethical guidelines for its members. NKK is marking its 100th anniversary, which underlines the organisation's long history and importance in municipal financial management.
