Norwegian Church Aid-HEAT offers a five-day residential course that focuses on emergency training for humanitarian personnel. The course, which is conducted regularly by the NCA Global Safety & Access Unit, has as its main objective to strengthen and prepare the participants for work in high-risk environments. Participants learn to handle critical and life-threatening situations, which is essential for effective work in humanitarian missions.
The training is both physically and mentally demanding, with long days and high stress levels in the various modules and realistic scenario exercises. To ensure a safe and positive learning experience, professional instructors are present throughout the course. This gives participants the opportunity to develop the necessary skills in a supportive environment.
