Akerselven's Baatforening was founded on 27 May 1918 and today has approximately 200 active and 50 passive members. The association has modern facilities with floating docks on Hovedøya, where members have access to both water and electricity. The boats used by the members vary from traditional wooden boats to modern sailing boats, with a maximum boat length of 38 feet.
Winter accommodation is offered on Lindøya, and the association has a waiting list for boat berths, which applies to both seasonal berths and permanent berths. Allocation of berths only takes place to members with an address in Oslo or neighboring municipalities who do not have access to the fjord. For berths over 3 meters wide there can be several years' waiting time, while the waiting time for narrower berths is somewhat shorter.
Akerselven's Boat Association also has a guest jetty that can be booked through the association's website. In addition, space is offered in a bubble harbor from 15 October or storage on land at Lindøya.
