The KHiO bridge, also known as the "love bridge", is a curved footbridge constructed of steel profiles and equipped with braided steel railings. The bridge was completed in 2007 and is owned by Bymiljøetaten Park. It connects the area of Kuba with the University of the Arts in Oslo, which is an institution with both historic and modern buildings.
The bridge has become a popular spot for young couples, who often attach padlocks with names to the railing as a symbol of love. This tradition is inspired by similar customs from cities such as Paris and Florence. The KHiO bridge is not only an important pedestrian connection, but also a cultural landmark that attracts visitors and local residents. A wide concrete staircase leads up to the bridge, which provides easy access to the area.
