Thomas Heftye's place is located in the Frogner district of Oslo and is named after Thomas Heftye, a well-known Norwegian art collector. The square has a historical background with house facades dating from the end of the 19th century. In 2011, the area was extensively rehabilitated, which has helped to preserve the historic charm while modernizing the square.
After the rehabilitation, the area was made car-free, which has created a safer and more accessible space for pedestrians. The new stone setting and the raised terrain give the square a distinctive appearance, while a brick edge marks the difference in height towards Bygdøy allé. A staircase leads down towards Thomas Heftye's gate, and the square appears as a podium, which gives it a unique character in the cityscape.
