The Bellona Foundation is an independent, non-profit foundation that has been active since 1986. The organization works to develop real solutions to the climate crisis, with a focus on specialist areas such as aquaculture, environmental protection, green industry and CO2 capture. Bellona uses a technology-optimistic approach and systems thinking to promote sustainable solutions for politicians, public administration and business.
The foundation has approximately 60 employees with backgrounds in engineering, political science, economics, biology, law and journalism. Bellona has offices in several cities, including Oslo, Brussels, London, Berlin, Murmansk and St. Petersburg, as well as representations in the USA and several EU countries. The organization actively participates in important events such as Arendal Week and organizes international conferences on climate and environmental issues. Bellona also offers opportunities for support through contributions from individuals and organisations, and their websites are available in Norwegian, English and Russian.
