Fjord CleanUP is a non-profit organization that works to clean, restore and protect the marine environment in the inner Oslofjord. The organization is known for its voluntary initiative, which is the largest and most consistent in Oslo when it comes to cleaning fjords and rivers. Fjord CleanUP organizes weekly CleanUP events throughout the year, with activities both on land, from a kayak and underwater. Participants get access to equipment such as stand up paddle boards, kayaks and diving equipment to help remove marine pollution.
In addition to the cleansing, Fjord CleanUP focuses on community and health by offering a sauna after the cleansing sessions, which gives participants an opportunity to relax and socialize. The organization is also involved in restoration work to improve water quality in the area. To strengthen their work, they aim to collect 300 signatures to appeal to Oslo City Council. Fjord CleanUP also offers private events and corporate CleanUPs, which provides opportunities for groups to participate in environmental work.
