Fretex clothing collection is part of the Salvation Army and works with a focus on reuse and work inclusion. The organization aims to combat alienation by giving people opportunities for work. Fretex promotes sustainability and environmentally friendly practices by offering collection of textile waste and gifts, such as clothes, shoes, belts, bags and other accessories. To be accepted, the items must be whole, clean and dry.
Collected textiles are sold or distributed through the Salvation Army, and a significant part of the income, up to NOK 30 million annually, goes to social work. Fretex has 40 second-hand shops as well as an online shop, and offers an alternative for those who want to shop environmentally friendly. From 2025, they plan to accept textile waste from the municipalities, which will strengthen their efforts for sustainability and community involvement. The core values of Fretex include openness, love, profitability and commitment.
