The GMO Network is an umbrella organization that brings together 18 different organizations and companies in Norway. The organization focuses on safeguarding the right of consumers and food producers to choose GMO-free food, feed, seeds and animals. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) refer to plants, animals or microorganisms that have had their genetic material changed using genetic engineering.
Through its work, the GMO Network wishes to promote a restrictive practice for the use of GMOs both nationally and internationally. The organization emphasizes building up and disseminating knowledge-based information to contribute to a democratic debate on the topic. This work is central to informing and engaging society in issues related to genetic modification and food production.
