Kirkens Bymisjon, Aksept is a national health and social work center that targets people affected by HIV. The centre's aim is to strengthen the life skills of its users, as well as to increase the level of knowledge about HIV and to prevent new cases of HIV infection. Aksept offers a range of free services without the need for a referral from a doctor, and accepts people from different social and cultural backgrounds.
Aksept acts as a sanctuary and meeting place, where visitors can feel safe and welcome. The center has a duty of confidentiality to safeguard visitors' safety, and offers activities, courses, conversation and guidance. In addition, they have emergency accommodation and organize workshops. Aksept has over 35 years of experience in the HIV field, and the employees have a high level of health and social work expertise.
