The shelter secretariat is an independent umbrella organization that represents shelters in Norway. The organization aims to work for a future without violence against women and violence in close relationships. Through their work, they also focus on combating human trafficking, and offer support to people who are exposed to this through the ROSA programme. This program provides access to a safe place to stay, legal advice, health services and education.
In addition to direct support for those at risk, the Crisis Center Secretariat organizes professional conferences and professional days to raise expertise in the field. The organization also gets involved in the social debate and works for changes to the Crisis Center Act, with the aim of strengthening the offer to those who need help. Through their work, they contribute to increased awareness and change in attitudes around violence and abuse in society.
