Kystlaget Viken is a voluntary organization based in Oslo, which aims to preserve and promote coastal culture. The organization carries out various activities and projects, including raw sail and fishing soup sails, as well as regional seminars focusing on the project "East Norwegian boats". Kystlaget Viken is also engaged in the restoration of historic boats, such as the Snekka Kari D, which was rescued from St. Hansbålet, and the fishing boat Vesla from Bleikøya, which is the last boat built there.
In addition to conservation work, Kystlaget Viken operates the MF Hovedøya, an Oslo ferry, and offers an activity calendar that provides an overview of upcoming events. The organization attaches great importance to association management and works to preserve the history linked to coastal culture, which helps to strengthen the community and interest in maritime traditions in the region.
