LHL International is a non-profit and independent organization established in 1943, with a focus on combating tuberculosis. The organization's aim is to contribute to a world without tuberculosis, a disease that annually kills more than a million people globally. LHL International has developed projects in several countries, including Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia, and works to train health workers and volunteers in these areas.
The organization offers resources such as brochures, films and e-learning, and is active in health communication and advocacy. In addition to focusing on tuberculosis, LHL International also addresses topics such as antibiotic resistance and mental health related to the disease. With support from the Norwegian authorities and collaboration with 34,000 volunteers who have survived tuberculosis, they screen over 1.5 million people for the disease each year.
