Maritastiftelsen's contact center is an interdenominational, diaconal foundation that focuses on supporting people in vulnerable life situations, especially those with drug and behavioral problems. The foundation was founded by Leiv O. Holstad, who played an important role in its development. Through a varied range of services, the Marita Foundation works to create an inclusive community.
The organization has several departments, including Marita Bo, Marita Women and Maritakafeen, where activities for socializing are arranged. In addition, they run second-hand shops such as M&E Second Hand and Marita Brukthandel, which contribute to financing the foundation's work. The Maritastiftelsen also provides opportunities for voluntary work and publishes Maritamagasinet, which is distributed free of charge to subscribers.
