The Norwegian Association of the Deaf is a non-profit organization that works for the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing in Norway. The organization was founded on 18 May 1918 in Trondheim and aims to promote equality and full participation in society for this group. Through various activities and campaigns, they work to strengthen awareness of the rights and interests of the deaf, as well as to ensure that their voice is heard in the social debate.
The organization offers resources for learning Norwegian sign language and arranges sign language interpreted performances, such as "Robin Hood". They also participate in national fundraising campaigns such as the TV campaign and celebrate International Sign Language Day to raise awareness of sign language and deaf culture. The Norwegian Association of the Deaf is part of the Atlas alliance, which collaborates on common goals to promote the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing in Norway.
