The Norwegian Parkinson Association is a nationwide interest organization that targets people with parkinsonism. The organization has approximately 6,500 members and is divided into 50 county and local associations. It offers a range of services, including courses and events for the newly diagnosed, as well as peer seminars that facilitate the exchange of experience among members.
Professionals are available for advice, and the organization focuses on coping and quality of life for its members. Rehabilitation and training are also offered, as well as support for relatives and legal advice. The Norwegian Parkinson Association is involved in research and development within parkinsonism, and organizes, among other things, the Unity Walk to raise awareness and support the issue.
