The UNDP Oslo Governance Center (OGC) was established in 2002 and is part of UNDP's Governance and Peacebuilding Cluster. The center focuses on democratic governance and peacebuilding, especially in crisis, conflict and transition contexts. OGC draws on UNDP's expertise in human development, democratic governance and conflict prevention to support policy development and applied research.
The center works closely with relevant units within UNDP and the UN to strengthen the analytical and learning capacity in governance and peacebuilding. OGC values its partnership with the host nation Norway, and is established with shared resources and under joint management arrangements.
