Universelt Fredsforbund is a voluntary organization that focuses on interreligious cooperation for peace. The organization works with peace initiatives in several regions, including the Middle East, Northeast Asia, the Bering Strait and South Asia. An important part of their activities is the awarding of the Sunhak Peace Prize, which recognizes individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to peace work.
In addition to the peace initiatives, the Universal Peace Federation emphasizes human rights and religious freedom. They organize various activities, such as the International Day of Tolerance, and include prayer for peace as part of their work. The organization also highlights the sustainability goals in relation to religion, as well as the importance of family and society in the work for peace. The Universal Peace Federation has general consultative status in the UN's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
