The LO House in Porsgrunn is a central player in trade union activities affiliated with the National Confederation of Trade Unions in Norway (LO). The House serves as a focal point for the trade union movement's efforts in the Vestfold and Telemark regions. Members are recruited here for various trade unions, and advice is offered to elected officials on issues related to working life.
In addition to recruitment and advice, the LO House arranges courses and conferences, including regional conferences to strengthen cooperation and expertise among members. The House also coordinates LO's summer patrol, an activity that is carried out annually to safeguard workers' rights during the summer months. With over one million members, 50 percent of whom are women, the LO House represents a significant part of the organized workforce in Norway.
