Sandefjord Islamic Center is a mosque that offers a varied program for members of the local community. The center focuses on in-depth learning about Tajweed, which deals with the correct pronunciation and reading of the Quran. There is also a small library with several Islamic books, as well as a quiet space for performing all Islamic prayers. The center is open to children, youth, women and men, and emphasizes community based on openness and knowledge.
In addition to prayer services, Sandefjord Islamic Center offers teaching and counseling on Islamic ethics and morality. The center has approximately 150 students in different age groups and levels, and also offers counseling, Shahada, Janaza and Arabic lessons. Salat al Jomah takes place at 3 pm in summer time, which provides an opportunity for community and togetherness among the members.
