Dag Solstads plass is a city park in Sandefjord, named after the renowned author Dag Solstad on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The square has become a cultural gathering point, and one of the most prominent installations is "Veiviseren", which was unveiled in 2016. This four-meter-high pole has signs pointing to various cities associated with Solstad's literary works, giving visitors an opportunity to reflect on the author's influence.
Previously, an anchor from the Maritime Museum was placed on the site, testifying to the city's maritime history. Near the square is Prinsens gate 16, a wooden house from around 1838 that houses the Maritime Museum. The museum provides insight into Sandefjord's maritime history, while Rukla, an extension to the museum inaugurated in 1966, functions as an activity center for youth. This makes the area around Dag Solstads plass an important part of the city's cultural and historical landscape.
