Trygg Trafikk Rogaland is a bicycle park owned and operated by Sandnes Municipality. The facility aims to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport, in line with the urban growth agreement for the municipalities. The park offers teacher courses for teachers, who must complete these before they can book time to use the bike path via the Aktiv-kommun website. There is a limited number of students per group, with a maximum of 30 participants for the bike facility.
In addition to teacher courses, Trygg Trafikk Rogaland develops educational programs for traffic education in schools and kindergartens. The County Traffic Safety Committee allocates funds for both teacher courses and maintenance of bicycles used in education. The bike path is available to the public when it is not in use by school classes, and gives both children and adults the opportunity to practice traffic rules and cycling skills in a safe environment.
