Sørafjellet is a popular hiking area in Sandnes, known for its moderately demanding hike that stretches over 5.0 kilometers. The hike takes about two hours to complete as a round trip, and it includes a total elevation gain of 273 meters. The area offers varied terrain types, from shore to forest and up to mountain peaks, which provides a varied and scenic experience.
From the top of Sørafjellet there is a nice view of the Ryfylkefjorden, which makes the hike an attractive choice for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition, there are opportunities for swimming in nearby Dalevatn and Dalsvågen. Sørafjellet is also included in the popular 7-nutsturen, and there are alternative routes back via Dalevatnet or Revsdal, which gives hikers more options.
