Grotterødløkka Kindergarten was opened on December 15, 2005 and aims to create an environment characterized by children's laughter and everyday magic. The kindergarten has departments with names inspired by a flower meadow, which gives a unique touch to the content and atmosphere. It is religion-neutral and emphasizes respect for different ethnicities, cultures and beliefs, which is reflected in the celebration of UN Day, Christmas party, light festival and Sami People's Day.
The kindergarten has an active focus on nature and outdoor activities, with regular trips to local natural areas. This gives the children the opportunity to explore and learn about their surroundings. In addition, Grotterødløkka Kindergarten offers access to ponies as part of the activity program, which helps develop motor skills and gives the children a varied and engaging everyday life.
