Falkum kindergarten is a municipal kindergarten with four age-specific departments, located in Nordre Falkum in Skien. The kindergarten focuses on health and coping for children and young people, and offers a varied range of activities that promote play, learning and friendship. There is a commitment to culture, sports and volunteering, and the kindergarten collaborates with NAV to provide support for housing and social services.
The kindergarten has access to the Lundedalen recreation area, where there is a separate "100-meter forest" with a barbecue area, teepees and an amphitheater. Falkum kindergarten also has a share on Århus farm, where children have the opportunity to greet animals and participate in harvesting fruit and vegetables. The kindergarten serves two meals a day, which include bread with healthy spreads, milk and fruit, and dinner once a week.
Falkum kindergarten also offers services for relatives, including information about vaccination, infection control, and the Housing Bank's loans and subsidy schemes. This provides a holistic approach to children's development and well-being, while supporting families in their everyday lives.
