Løveid Sluse is a historical landmark located in the Telemark Canal at Skotfoss in Skien. The lock is part of a system that includes eight lock systems and 18 chambers, and it raises boats 72 meters above sea level. This makes it possible for pleasure boats to navigate through the scenic landscape of Telemark. The lock is open to pleasure boats from mid-June to mid-August, and there are manned lock systems during this period.
The area around Løveid Sluse offers beautiful piers and magnificent scenery, making it a popular place for various activities. Visitors can participate in cycling, canoeing and fishing, and there are opportunities to rent 100% electric cabin cruisers. In addition, an informative film is available that provides inspiration for boating holidays in the area. Løveid Sluse represents both an important part of the history of the Telemark Canal and an attractive destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
