Borgestad Gård AS is located in Skien and has a history spanning over 300 years. The farm was established in 1696 by Anna Clausdatter and Generalmajor Arnold, and has been in the family's ownership ever since. Agriculture has been practiced on the site since the 14th century, and the farm is known for its baroque garden, laid out in 1701, which is considered one of Norway's oldest and most intact. The garden includes pear trees from 1776 that still produce fruit.
The farm has a long tradition of selling quality meat and also offers strawberries, Christmas trees and firewood. Borgestad Gård focuses on sustainable operations and local products, which is reflected in their production and sales. Previously, the goods were sold directly from the farm, and transport was often carried out by horse.
