Espira Tastarustå is a kindergarten in Stavanger Municipality that offers five departments for children aged 0-6 years. The kindergarten has space for 12 children in the age group 0-3 years and 24 children in the age group 3-6 years. The emphasis is on care, engagement and inspiration in the pedagogical work, which also has a special focus on science. To promote mastery and understanding, the kindergarten uses small groups in its pedagogical program.
The kindergarten has adapted group rooms for activities such as drama, construction play and creativity, as well as a gymnasium. There are also two common rooms with kitchens, where the children participate in cooking. In addition, the kindergarten has a rooftop cultivation with greenhouse and outdoor kitchen, where the children can learn about growing vegetables and fruit. The Småspirene program has been developed to ensure a safe introduction for new children and promote good cooperation with parents.
