Stavanger Acute Medicine Foundation for Education and Research (SAFER) was established in 2005 as a collaboration between Stavanger University Hospital, the University of Stavanger and Laerdal Medical AS. The foundation functions as a learning center with a focus on improving patient safety through learning, teaching, research and quality improvement. SAFER aims to strengthen acute medicine education and competence development for healthcare professionals.
The center offers a diverse range of simulation courses, ranging from offshore to emergency medicine, and places great emphasis on practical skills and communication. The courses can be adapted to the specific needs of different groups, making them relevant to a wide range of healthcare professionals. SAFER is also active in both national and international networks, and collaborates with leading medical simulation centers to develop and improve its course offerings. The center is located in Innovas.
