The Norwegian Organ Festival takes place over four days in and around Stavanger, and offers a varied program with a focus on organ music. The festival includes concerts, performances, organ walks and organ courses for young people, as well as festival high masses. It presents a wide range of genres, such as classical music, church music, folk music and contemporary music, and aims to give participants unique organ experiences.
Among the highlights of the festival are a walk in the organ city of Stavanger, open organ with cathedral organist Arnfinn Tobiassen, and matinee concerts with young organ talents. The Children's Concert Hall offers activities such as "Build an organ!", and the festival's theme for 2025 is "ROOTS". In addition, Leagus, with roots in Sápmi, will contribute to the festival's diverse program. The festival is organized under the Stavanger Church Community Council and is led by a festival board and professional council. All concerts and events are open to the public.
