Stavanger City Museum is a museum that offers a varied experience with a focus on both local history and natural diversity. The museum has a number of exhibitions covering themes such as prayer life, birds, art, natural history, urban history and the Norwegian Children's Museum. Among the special exhibitions you will find a jubilee exhibition in connection with Stavanger 2025, as well as an exhibition about King Magnus Lagabøter's Landslov.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the museum organizes summer activities for both children and adults, and has a play park with historical toys. Free visits are also offered for schools and kindergartens, making it a popular destination for educational purposes. The museum also has a photo exhibition that explores the themes of prayer and faith, as well as a lecture marathon in Stavanger Cathedral. Visitors can also experience a time journey through 900 years and learn about the 900 species registered in the area in one year.
