KORUS Stavanger is a regional competence center in the field of substance abuse, located in Stavanger. The center aims to strengthen substance abuse expertise in the region and assists both municipalities and the specialist health service in Rogaland. KORUS Stavanger is organized under Helse Stavanger, specifically under the Clinic for Mental Health, and is funded by the Directorate of Health.
The center focuses on improving competence, organizing and quality development of substance abuse services. KORUS Stavanger collaborates with user organizations and educational institutions to develop and offer courses and events related to substance abuse and society. With a targeted approach, they target employees and decision-makers in 23 municipalities, and work to translate national strategies into local action.
