Østkanten Motorbåtforening was founded in 1938 by a group of 18 boat owners, and has since developed into an established boat association with a rich history. The association has adjusted its membership fees over time to accommodate changes in the membership and the needs of the boat owners.
The association is located in Breivik harbour, where it shares facilities with the Sailing Association 1928. After negotiations with the Stavanger Municipality, Breivik was granted status as a small boat harbour in 1970, which has contributed to strengthening the harbour's function for boat owners. The pier that was established has further improved the harbour conditions, which is important for the members of the association.
