Stavanger DPS is a specialized health institution that assesses, treats and rehabilitates adults with mental illnesses. The institution has two wards with a total of 24 beds, as well as an adult psychiatric outpatient clinic and an outpatient emergency team. This provides a varied offer to patients, who can receive help both in acute situations and in more planned treatment courses.
Treatment at Stavanger DPS includes a medical, psychological and milieu therapeutic approach. There is an emphasis on participation and cooperation with both patients and relatives, which is an important part of the treatment process. In addition, group treatment is offered, which gives patients the opportunity to participate in treatment with others. Daily routines, regular meals and activities are also central elements in the rehabilitation, which contributes to a structured everyday life for the patients.
