The Faculty of Performing Arts at the University of Stavanger is an academic faculty offering studies in music, dance and theatre. The faculty has approximately 250 students and 90 staff, and focuses on both education and research. It is part of the university's commitment to cooperation with the cultural community, which gives students opportunities to participate in relevant projects and events.
The faculty organizes annual concerts and festivals, including the Bjergsted Brass Festival, which helps to promote performing arts in the region. In addition to the traditional study programs, there are also student-run events such as Books & Beats, which give students a platform to showcase their talent. The faculty has a development strategy from 2021 to 2030, which aims to strengthen both the educational program and research activities. The Student Council plays an active role in the life of the faculty and is involved in various activities to improve the student experience.
