The Student Organization at the University of Stavanger, known as StOr, functions as a non-partisan interest organization for students at the university. As a student at the University of Stavanger, you automatically become a member of StOr, which aims to safeguard the democratic, academic and social needs of students. The organization represents the voice of students and works to promote their welfare, as well as social and cultural interests.
StOr is also the umbrella organization for the university's student organizations and student associations, and is responsible for facilitating an active student environment. There are nearly 60 student organizations at the university, and StOr encourages the establishment of more. The organization offers support and resources to new students, arranges student elections and political activities, and participates in international projects such as ECIU. Through various initiatives such as Fadderuken and the student representative scheme, StOr focuses on engaging students and strengthening their social influence.
