Norwegian Band Federation - NMF Rogaland is one of Norway's largest voluntary cultural organizations, with nearly 60,000 members. The organization has an extensive structure that includes over 1,600 bands, ranging from school bands to youth and adult bands. NMF Rogaland aims to promote musical enjoyment and community through band music, and has a long history with many of its member bands spanning over 100 years.
To support the development of coaches and instructors, NMF Rogaland offers drill and instructor courses. The organization also organizes competitions such as the Nordnorsk Championships and Steinkjerspæll, which give the bands the opportunity to showcase their skills. In addition, they have developed a digital tool called Tutti, which will simplify the operation of the bands. NMF Rogaland places great emphasis on recruiting and including children and young people in the music community, which helps to ensure a sustainable future for band music in the region.
