Located in Stavanger, the Ydalir Foundation operates as a socially responsible hotel with a focus on sustainability. The hotel offers luxurious rooms and has dedicated staff who work to provide guests with a comfortable experience. Ydalir is specifically designed for the needs of the University of Stavanger, and it is also possible to use the facilities as a research arena.
The hotel opened on March 14, 2018 and has since contributed financially to the university. The name Ydalir has roots in Norse mythology, and the foundation was established as a gift from the Smedvig family to the region. In 2015, Ydalir celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a long-standing connection to the local community.
