North Norwegian Art Centre is a visual arts centre that aims to promote and strengthen visual arts and crafts in Northern Norway. The centre works on projects and initiatives that extend across the region, and has a special focus on supporting local artists. This includes, among other things, a North Norwegian artist register, as well as project funds and grants available to artists in the area.
The centre is known for organizing the Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF), which attracts both national and international artists. In addition, they offer an artist house and art shop in Svolvær, as well as the dissemination of art through Den kulturellter skolesekken. North Norwegian Art Centre also has a varied programme of pop-up exhibitions and theme exhibitions, such as "Syv ganger solens farge". The collaboration with Bodø Art Association contributes to the continued operation of older exhibitions, which strengthens the artistic environment in the region.
