The Vågan Fire Department, also known as the Vågan Fire and Rescue Service, is based at the Svolvær Fire Station. The station is staffed with an emergency response force that is available for call-outs 24 hours a day. This ensures a rapid response to emergencies in the region.
In addition to the emergency response force, the fire station houses the fire department administration, as well as the fire prevention service and the inspection service. These units work to promote fire safety and prevent fire-related incidents in the local community. The Vågan Fire Department has specific guidelines, such as not renting out life jackets or accepting used fire extinguishers.
