Ekrehagen Open-Air Kindergarten AL is a non-profit, parent-owned kindergarten located in scenic surroundings on the top of Tromsøya, near the University and UNN. The kindergarten actively uses nature as part of the learning environment, and the children are given the opportunity to explore the diversity of nature through play and activities. The kindergarten is divided into three departments: Blåmann, Tinden and Varden, each of which has its own focus and approach to learning.
The kindergarten offers various facilities such as lavvo, barbecue hut and gapahuker, which give the children the opportunity to be outside all year round. Activities such as children's yoga are also part of the offer, and there is an emphasis on cooperation with parents to create a good learning environment. With access to the forest and a lighted trail right outside the fence, as well as an ice rink in winter, there are plenty of opportunities for physical activity and exploration in nature.
