Fiskeri- og havbruksnæringens forskningsfinansering AS (FHF) is a state-owned limited liability company that manages joint investments in research and development for the seafood industry. The company is owned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and is financed exclusively by the seafood industry through a research and development fee of 0.3% of the export value of all seafood. FHF aims to promote sustainable value creation and growth in the industry.
The company is working on a number of projects that include the development of sensors for monitoring water quality in aquaculture, as well as data capture and analysis of fish stocks. FHF also focuses on innovation in CO2 removal technology and researches alternative feed resources, such as beer waste and chicken bones.
