Tromsø Kunstforening (TKF) was founded in 1924 and is the oldest art institution in Northern Norway. As a central exhibition venue for contemporary art, TKF has established itself as an important player in the art field, with a focus on both local and international art. The art association has a tradition of highlighting recent and experimental contemporary art, and works on projects that include both national and international artists.
In addition to exhibitions, Tromsø Kunstforening organizes various events such as seminars and artist talks, which aim to create reflection and discussion around art. The art association also has its own crypt that is used for special events. In 2025, TKF will celebrate its 100th anniversary, which marks an important milestone in the institution's history. Visitors have free admission to the exhibitions, and the place is adapted for wheelchair users and families.
