The Norwegian Seafood Council is a marketing organization that works to promote Norwegian seafood in international markets. The organization aims to increase value creation through market access, insight, marketing and PR. It is owned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and is financed through a statutory levy on seafood exports. With 70 employees and 13 offices globally, they have a wide scope for their activities.
The Seafood Council develops and promotes brands such as "Seafood from Norway" and offers resources and statistics to exporters in the industry. In addition, they arrange seminars and conferences to bring together players in the seafood industry, which contributes to knowledge sharing and networking. Through its work, the Norwegian Seafood Council aims to strengthen the position of Norwegian seafood in the global market.
