Nordnorsk Filmsenter AS is a public institution whose main task is to support film production in Northern Norway. The center offers grants and awards to filmmakers in the region, with a particular focus on promoting new ideas within short films and short series. In addition to financial support, they organize the Short Film Training Program: MASO, which is aimed at both experienced and young filmmakers, to develop their skills and creativity.
Following the merger of several film companies, Nordnorsk Filmsenter AS has updated its grant guidelines, which may affect the availability of resources for filmmakers. The center also participates in the ESoDoc program, which takes place on Sommarøy, and offers reviews of films that have received grants from Arctic Film Norway. Through these activities, the center works to strengthen the film community in Northern Norway and contribute to the development of local film culture.
