The Catholic Church in Tromsø covers a geographical area spanning Northern Norway and Svalbard, with a total area of 112,986 km², which increases to 175,686 km² when Svalbard is included. The church plays a central role in the Catholic community in Norway and offers a range of services, including catechesis and resources for the Catholic faith. It organizes masses and church ceremonies, and has a special focus on youth work through the Young Catholics of Norway.
Bishop Erik Varden heads the foundation, which also works to include historical and cultural aspects of the Catholic faith in its work. Through various activities and events, the Catholic Church helps to strengthen the community among Catholics in the region.
