The rescue service aims to contribute to increased safety at sea, with the vision that "No one should drown". The organization offers free assistance from 58 rescue boats, with no deductible for members. With over 1,200 rescuers manning the rescue boats, they are present along the entire coast of Norway. The rescue service has an ambition for a quick response, with the goal of being a maximum of one hour away in the event of an accident.
In addition to rescue services, the rescue service is involved in preventive work. They provide information about seasonal preparations and provide safety tips for boating. The organization also provides opportunities for volunteer involvement, both on land and at sea, which contributes to the community and increased safety for everyone who travels on the water.
