Kongsbakken Upper Secondary School, one of the oldest educational institutions in Northern Norway, has a long history dating back to 1833. The school was established by a resolution from the Storting in 1830, and the first school building was located in Fredrik Langes gate. The current school building was built between 1919 and 1924, and was inaugurated on February 1, 1924. Today, the school has approximately 700 students and around 140 employees.
The school offers upper secondary education and has a library with resources available to students. Kongsbakken uses Office 365 for learning and collaboration, which promotes digital competence among students. There is an emphasis on student participation and well-being, as well as active work with deviation reports to improve the school environment. The school also provides information and support to parents, which contributes to a holistic learning environment.
